One of the key aspects of our maintenance contracts is monitoring your backups - however, this is only part of your disaster recovery plan. Before we can do this we need to help you develop a complete strategy for archiving, backups and preparing for worst case scenario.

This plan may include backup servers, external hard drives, online backups and fireproof safes. Since no two companies have exactly the same requirements we will sit with you and go through all available options to tailor this to your requirements.

In general, a plan will consist of three main areas:
  • Server
We will advise on the level of redundancy your server needs (e.g. multiple hard drives, redundant power supplies or even a backup server that is pre-configured and stored offsite.

  • Backups
Your backup strategy will be dependant on how much data you have and may include tape or hard drive backups (stored either offsite or in a fireproof safe) coupled with secure online backups.

  • Archiving
If you have lots of data we will usually archive old data so that it is available at all times but stored in a way that reduces the load on your server.

If you require any advice on disaster recovery, please call or email us.

Thank you for all your advice and support recently. We now have the right systems in place and are finding everyday tasks are being performed more quickly and efficiently - and as accountants we were pleasantly surprised by your prices!
